Yusuf Aytugrul ("the offender"), her ex partner, was found guilty of her murder and sentenced to imprisonment comprising a non-parole period of 21 years and a balance of the term of sentence of 7 years. The sentence was dated form the 5th of June 2007, and the offender will be eligible for parole on expiration of the non parole period on 4th June 2028.
