Is there any difference between negligent acts/conduct and negligent statements that cause pure economic loss An act can cause pure economic loss without anyone hearing about it. A duty of care is possible but there have been very few successful cases. Prior to the case of Caltex Oil (Aust.) Pty. Ltd. v.
