WORK2218: People & Organizations Case study ANK Case Study `Working for one of the big five' Expectancy theory is the notion that individuals within a workplace direct their effort towards activities or tasks to which they believe will lead to a personally desirable outcome (Vroom, 1964). The underlying model of expectancy theory suggests that employee motivation is influenced by three key components: `effort-to-performance expectancy' (E-to-P), `performance- to-outcome expectancy' (E-toO) and `outcome valences' (McShane, 2007). The following report will use this model as the basis in helping explain Julia's motivation in working for `Anderson, Nguyen and Kelly (ANK).
